Personal data

Personal data is data that describes you personally. This includes your name, address, and email address. You are not required to disclose personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases, we need your name and address, as well as other information, to offer you services which you request.

The same is true if you request that we deliver informational materials to you, or if we are processing your inquiry. We will always inform you in such cases. Furthermore, we only store the data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we generally only collect the data required to offer you that service. We may ask you for further information, but this will be of a voluntary nature. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to offer you our services, or to pursue our commercial objectives.

Contact

When someone contacts us (for instance via the contact form, email, telephone, or social media), the information of the inquiring individual is processed if this is necessary to answer the contact inquiry and to provide any requested measures.

Contact inquiries are answered in the framework of contractual or pre-contractual relationships in order to fulfill our contractual obligations to answer (pre)-contractual inquiries, as well as based on our legitimate interest in answering inquiries.

  • Types of data processed: master data (such as name, address), contact information (such as e-mail, phone number), content data (such as entries in online forms).
  • Data subjects: communication partners.
  • Purpose of processing: contact inquiries and communication.
  • Legal bases: contractual fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Automatically saved data

Server log files

The page provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information includes:

  • The date and time of the request
  • The name of the requested file
  • The page from which the file was requested
  • The access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)
  • The web browser and operating system used
  • The complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • The transmitted quantity of data

This data is not combined with data from other sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and function of our website.
We store this data on a short-term basis for reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attempted attacks on our web server. It is not possible for us to trace this data back to individual persons. The data is anonymized after seven days at the latest by truncating the IP address on the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to associate the data with an individual user. The data is also used for statistical purposes in anonymized form. It is not compared with other available data or transmitted to third parties, either in whole or in part. The number of times a page was accessed is displayed only as part of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we may save information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a clear identifier for the cookie. It consists of a character string with which websites and servers can be classified to the specific web browser on which the cookie was saved. This allows the websites and servers visited to differentiate the individual browsers of the data subject from other web browsers, which receive different cookies. A specific web browser can be detected and identified via its unique cookie ID.

The controller can use session cookies to provide users of this website with more user-friendly service, which would not be possible without saving cookies. Unless we have your consent, we only use technically necessary cookies, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

We only use personalized cookies to improve our website or for marketing / advertising processes with your consent. The first time you visit our page, you can voluntarily decide to agree to tracking and/or analysis via the cookie banner which appears on your screen. Your data may be transmitted to partners or third-party providers. These cookies will be stored only if you explicitly agree; the legal basis in this case is your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
You can change your settings for the use of cookies here at any time:

Facebook Pixel

This website uses Pixel from Facebook to measure conversion of visitor activities. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. However, based on statements by Facebook, the collected data is also transmitted to the USA as well as to other third countries.

This means that the behavior of page visitors can be tracked after they are forwarded

to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. This makes it possible to analyze the

effectiveness of Facebook’s ads for statistical and market research purposes.

It also makes it possible to optimize future advertising measures.

As the website operator, the collected data is anonymous for us; we cannot draw any conclusions regarding the identity of the user. However, Facebook does store and process the data, meaning that it may be connected with an individual's user profile, and that Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook data usage guidelines. Facebook can also use this data to display advertisements on Facebook pages as well as outside of Facebook. We are not able to influence this use of data as the website operator.

Use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and 25 para. 1 TTDSG (German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act). Consent may be revoked at any time.

Data transmission to the USA is carried out on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.

If the tool described here is used to collect personal data on our website and forward it to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland are both responsible for this data processing as joint controllers (Art. 26 GDPR). This joint responsibility shall be restricted exclusively to collecting the data and transmitting it to Facebook. Any processing carried out by Facebook following the transmission is not part of this joint responsibility. Our common obligations have been set forth in an agreement on joint processing. The wording of the agreement is available at:

https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. According to this agreement, we are responsible for issuing the data privacy information when the Facebook tool is used, and for ensuring the tool is implemented securely on our website in accordance with data protection law. Facebook is responsible for the data security of Facebook products. You can assert your rights as a data subject (such as requests for information) related to data processed by Facebook against Facebook directly. If you assert your rights as a data subject against us, then we are obligated to forward such assertions to Facebook.

You can find further information on how your privacy is protected in the Facebook Data privacy statement: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. To do so,

you must be logged onto Facebook.

YouTube

This website contains videos integrated from YouTube. The operator of the page is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in the extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, in this mode, YouTube does not save information on the visitors to this website before they view the video. However, extended data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transmission of data to YouTube's partners. Regardless of whether you view a video, YouTube completes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network.

Once you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection is made to YouTube servers. Through this connection, the YouTube server is informed which of our pages you visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you make it possible for YouTube to associate your surfing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

In addition, after a video is started, YouTube can save a variety of cookies on your device, or use comparable recognition technologies (such as device fingerprinting). YouTube can obtain information on visitors to this website in this way. This information is used, for instance, to record video statistics, to improve user friendliness, and to prevent attempted fraud.

Other data processing procedures may be triggered after a YouTube video is started, over which we have no influence. We use YouTube for the purpose of displaying our online services in an appealing manner. This is part of our legitimate interests in the sense of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If we have asked for your consent to do so, then processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent covers saving cookies or accessing information on the user’s device (such as device fingerprinting) pursuant to the TTDSG. Consent may be revoked at any time.

Further information on data protection at YouTube is available in the YouTube Data privacy declaration at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Matomo

This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo uses technologies which make it possible to recognize the user across multiple web pages, in order to analyze user behavior (such as cookies or device fingerprinting).

By using Matomo, we are able to collect and analyze data on the use of our website by

website visitors. This allows us to determine, for instance, which pages were accessed and when, and the region from which they were accessed. We also collect various log files (such as IP address, referrer, browser and operating system used) and can measure whether our website visitors take certain actions (such as clicks, purchases, etc.).

We use this analytic tool based on corresponding consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent covers the saving of cookies or access to information on the user’s device (such as device fingerprinting) in the sense of the TTDSG. Consent may be revoked at any time.

We use IP anonymization in the course of Matomo’s analysis. This means that your IP address is

truncated before the analysis, so it cannot be uniquely associated with you.

Security

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All of our employees, as well as the service providers working for us, are obligated to uphold valid data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, this data is encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security precautions undergo a continuous improvement process, and our data privacy declarations are revised regularly. Please ensure that you have the latest version.

  • this processing is carried out using automated processes.

If technically feasible, you can request that we directly transmit your data to another controller.

Right to object:

If we are processing your data based on our legitimate interests, you can object to data processing at any time; this would then also apply to any profiling based on these provisions. If you believe that we are violating German or European data protection law in processing your data, please contact us to clarify any questions. Of course, you also have the right to contact your responsible supervisory authority, your respective State Office for Data Protection Supervision.

If you want to assert one of the aforementioned rights against us, please contact our Data Protection Officer. In case of doubt, we can request additional information to confirm your identity.
